🛠️ Clinical Indications
PANAVIA™ V5 is suitable for cementing:
-
Crowns (anterior and posterior)
-
Inlays and onlays
-
Veneers
-
3-unit bridges
-
Long-span bridges
-
Prostheses on implant abutments
-
Root posts
🧪 Bonding Mechanism
The cement utilizes the original MDP (10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate) monomer, which forms a strong bond with hydroxyapatite in tooth structures, metals, and ceramics. The unique “touch-cure” mechanism accelerates polymerization upon contact with the tooth primer, enhancing bond strength even in self-cure mode. Kuraray Noritake
🎨 Shade Options
PANAVIA™ V5 is available in five aesthetic shades:
-
Universal (A2)
-
Clear
-
Brown (A4)
-
White
-
Opaque (self-cure only)
Each shade has a corresponding try-in paste to predict the final aesthetic outcome. Kuraray Noritake
🧰 Components
The PANAVIA™ V5 system includes:
-
PANAVIA™ V5 Paste: The resin cement available in various shades.
-
PANAVIA™ V5 Tooth Primer: A one-component self-etching primer for tooth preparation.
-
CLEARFIL™ Ceramic Primer Plus: For priming prosthetic materials.
-
K-ETCHANT Syringe: For etching tooth surfaces.
-
Try-in Pastes: For shade selection and aesthetic evaluation.
🧪 Clinical Application
-
Tooth Preparation: Clean and dry the tooth surface.
-
Etching: Apply K-ETCHANT to enamel and dentin, rinse, and dry.
-
Priming: Apply PANAVIA™ V5 Tooth Primer to the tooth surface for 20 seconds, then air-dry.
-
Prosthetic Preparation: Clean and, if necessary, prime the prosthetic surface with CLEARFIL™ Ceramic Primer Plus.
-
Cementation: Apply PANAVIA™ V5 Paste to the prosthetic, seat it onto the tooth, and remove excess cement.
-
Curing: Light-cure for 10 seconds per surface or allow self-curing to complete.
